Sharon has worked in a wide variety of roles within the health and social care sector for over 35 years. Having originally trained as a Learning Disability Nurse, Sharon then joined the National Health Service (NHS) as a Manager of residential services, supporting individuals with severe behavioural needs.
Sharon then studied at the Tizard Centre within the University of Kent, being awarded a Degree in Behavioural Therapy. Further roles within the NHS followed, as an Operations Manager and then as a Community Nurse.
Sharon knows that a well trained workforce is critical to ensuring people with disabilities are supported to have the best opportunities in life, so then moved into teaching and development. As Group Training Manager at Alina Homecare, Sharon set up a five star programme, the Alina Homecare Academy, offering a wide range of specialist training which receives excellent recognition from our CQC inspections and ratings. This ensures a person’s needs are fully met by our Teams, to the very highest standards, every day.
