Dementia Awareness week

May 20 – 26: Dementia Action Week. Dementia is the name for a group of symptoms that commonly include problems with memory, thinking, problem solving, language and perception. Dementia is caused by diseases which damage the brain by causing a loss of nerve cells. Alzheimer’s disease is one specific cause of dementia and the most common. For many, dementia can be a sensitive issue and difficult to talk about, but having honest and knowledgeable conversations will ultimately improve the lives of those living with dementia, and their families.

Dementia care is one of the many services Alina Homecare offers with staff receiving extensive training and knowledge on providing high quality care to clients with dementia.
