Our Cookies Policy
Updated: August 2026
1 What are cookies?
Cookies are small files placed on your device so you can be recognised and remembered. A cookie is sent to your browser and stored on your computer. When you visit our website, we collect information from you automatically through these cookies or similar technology like tags and pixels. When using the Alina Homecare website, you can consent to cookies being used in accordance with this policy or opt out using our cookie banner.
2 Why do we use cookies?
The cookies we use are safe and secure and we don’t store your personal information. We use them, for example, to:
- Remember your settings and preferences
- Show the most useful content for you so you might see our ads on other websites
- Understand who visits our websites, how they navigate and how easy they are to use
- Show you a working phone number for your local Team and connect your call to the right branch
- Track your activity on our website, such as filling in a form or giving us a call
We don’t sell your data to anyone else for any reason, show adverts from third parties on our websites or store personal information in our cookies that could identify you directly, like your name, email, postcode, or financial information (credit card, bank account).
3 Types of cookie we use
There are two sources of cookies:
- First party cookies – set by the owner of a website, in this case Alina Homecare
- Third party cookies – set by third party websites such as Google to enhance advertising and social sharing features.
There are broadly four types of cookie:
- Marketing cookies – cookies that collect information about your behaviour on our website and use this data to help us run and optimise our digital marketing activity, such as social media and adverts
- Strictly necessary cookies – essential cookies that make our website work and enable features you expect from our website, such as navigation, live chat and showing you a working phone number for your local Team
- Performance cookies – cookies that collect anonymous information to assess the performance of our website, using tools such as Google Analytics
- Functionality cookies – cookies that remember choices you previously made so you can continue to use our website the way you want to
Some of these are stored as cookies and some are stored in your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way. Both are covered by this policy and both are cleared when you clear your browsing data.
We also use a tool that measures how our website is performing without storing anything on your device at all. There is nothing for you to accept or decline, and you can read about it at the end of section 6.
4 Customising your cookies
Manage your cookie settings within your browser or our cookie banner. If you disable cookies, your experience of using our website may be compromised as some of the cookies help us to identify and resolve errors or display relevant content.
Learn more about cookies here: www.aboutcookies.org
Opt out of being tracked here: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are set when you arrive so the website works properly. They include the cookies that show you a working phone number for your local Team and connect your call to the right branch menu. Our call tracking provider classifies these as strictly necessary rather than marketing or analytical cookies.[1][2]
Local storage: our call tracking also keeps a copy of the details above in your browser’s local storage, under names beginning calltrk-. These hold the same information as the cookies listed above and are cleared when you clear your browsing data.

6 Analytics & Marketing Cookies
These are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner. If you decline, none of the following are placed on your device.
Local storage: if you accept these cookies, Google Ads also stores a small record under _gcl_ls in your browser’s local storage for the same purpose as the cookies above.
Measurement without cookies: we also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, which tells us how many people visit our pages and how they move through the website. It works without cookies, does not store anything on your device and does not identify you, so it is not part of the choices in our cookie banner.
