MS Awareness Week

From the 22-29th April it’s Multiple Sclerosis awareness week. This years aim is to raise awareness of the condition, as well as focusing on the importance of staying active.

People with MS used to be advised to abstain from too much movement, but now it’s proven that muscle activity can actually reduce some symptoms. Relief of symptoms include: greater muscle, strength and mobility as well as improved bodily functioning. It will also help those diagnosed with maintaining a healthy body weight and encourage better cognitive functioning and good mental health. The key is to find the exercise that works best for each person.

What is MS?

MS is a condition that affects nerve cells, causing individuals to have limited movement. Every person has a different relationship with the condition; no-one has the same experience. People can show many different symptoms, relapses and remits throughout their lives.
