After a stroke, many people experience fatigue or tiredness that doesn’t improve with rest. Due to this, daily tasks may become difficult to manage.
Our Stroke Care Workers can help by completing tasks around the home such as hoovering the carpet, doing the laundry or preparing meals. We pace activities appropriately and ensure you have time to rest, helping you conserve energy for the things that matter most to you while maintaining your home environment.
The impacts of a stroke aren’t just physical but can also cause detrimental impacts on a person’s mental health. This includes anxiety, frustration and depression.
We understand mental health is equally as important as physical health. Our Carers are always there to listen to any concerns and provide valuable companionship. We offer emotional support, encourage engagement in activities you enjoy and help maintain social connections that are vital for recovery and wellbeing.

We prepare nutritious meals tailored to any dietary requirements post-stroke, including modified textures if needed for swallowing difficulties. Our support with routine and mealtimes helps you maintain structure in your day, ensures proper nutrition for recovery and provides the consistency that aids both physical and cognitive rehabilitation.

Agencies are not regulated and quality cannot be guaranteed. We provide fully regulated services that are inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We also provide full and exclusive training for our Care Workers, whereas private and agency Carers do not have comprehensive training. In addition to this, our services are also backed up with central support; this means you can count on us even if your Care Worker is sick or needs time off, as we can source a replacement to ensure continuity of care.
Along with our other services, our Stroke Care is regulated by the CQC to ensure our quality standards are upheld. This includes making sure that you or your loved one are always safe and secure and that our care is personalised for each of our clients.
Additionally, we're proud to partner with Birdie. Our innovative care technology allows us to digitally record and track the care we provide. With your permission, our care monitoring app. also enables complete visibility of care for you and your loved ones at any time. It’s a great way to provide more assurance that quality care is provided.
Making the choice between Home Care and a care home for you or your loved one after a stroke can be difficult. The decision ultimately depends on their care needs whilst keeping their best interests at heart.
With our after Stroke Care at Home, you or your loved one can avoid the stress and upheaval of moving and continue to live in the familiarity of the home. If you or your loved one need continuous care, our Stroke Live-in Care is a great option. A Live-in Carer will move into the home with you or your loved one and provide care as and when it’s needed.
However, if you or your loved one need more advanced care after a stroke, it may be safer and more suitable to consider a care home or nursing home where specialist support can be provided.
A stroke is a serious, and sometimes life threatening, condition that occurs when the blood supply to the brain is cut off. Cells in the brain require oxygen and other nutrients. When this supply is cut off, these cells begin to die.
Strokes have two main causes: either a blood clot or a burst blood vessel. Although a stroke can happen to anyone, certain conditions can increase the chances of one occurring. This includes high blood pressure, high cholesterol, irregular heartbeats, diabetes and lifestyle.
It’s estimated that over 100,000 people in the UK have a stroke every year.4 The impact of a stroke can be treated with some medications. This depends on the type of stroke and what caused it. Most people who have had a stroke are left with long term life changing impacts.
At Alina Homecare, we provide quality assured and compassionate care to help you or your loved one manage the impact of a stroke. The challenges a stroke brings differ significantly for each person. We understand this and tailor our Stroke Care services to each client to support their independence and if possible, their recovery.
If the impact of a stroke has meant you or your loved one now struggle to live safely and independently at home, it’s the right time to be looking for care arrangements. There are many different care options to choose from depending on the level of care needed. At Alina Homecare, our care visits can be as short as 30 minutes or we can provide a Live-in Carer who can deliver care 24/7.
We understand this is a challenging decision that requires a lot of thought. If you’d like to discuss these options and find out more about the services we can offer, have a chat with a member of our Team.
